These are a bead style I've been wanting to shake out of my brain for quite some time. It started by wanting to capture the symmetry and repetition in Tiffany stained glass lamps- often with dragonflies. The first ones in this style started with dragonflies, but I wasn't quite happy with them (they'll come at some point). Butterfly wings were the next exploration, and I've had a wonderful time playing with the form using the butterfly wing as a repetitive unit. A lot of detail is packed into these beads, but I've tried to keep them on the smaller side (smaller as compared to the chunky pendants I tend to make) to keep them lightweight and very wearable.

These beads feel so good to handle: an inflated donut/ disc shape, meant to be viewed from the side. Each bead has a different wing pattern and coloration on each side- often with transparent glasses on one side, and opaque on the other. I kept the holes on the larger side to allow for thicker fiber/ thread/ wire. The soft glass base is detailed with hand-painted vitreous enamels.

This bead is all about teals and turquoises: a rich turquoise transparent on one side, with detail dots in white and pale turquoise, with a darker teal on the other side.

The bead measures 29mm round, 10mm thick, with a 3.5mm bead hole.
