At Virtue Glass Flame Fest, Kim Edwards and I made one articulated butterfly with flameworked wings and Kim's flameworked interlocking rings, and we decided to do another round. The resulting butterfly has a fabulously fun movement to it, moving with the wearer. The butterflies are double-sided, with similar detailing on the flip side. We are really happy with how these beauties turned out, and we hope you'll add one to your collection!
While these butterflies are photographed by themselves, each butterfly will be finished with a custom-fit fabric chain with sterling clasp and jump rings- just message me with your preferred necklace length (at your collarbones)- 16", 17", or 18." (Or longer, if you prefer.) These butterflies sit best when the pendant is set to hang just below your collarbones. The last photo shows the first butterfly we made, finished with the fabric chain and sterling clasp.
This butterfly is very much inspired by Monarch butterflies, with deep ambery orange wings, black veins, and white and amber dot detail. This is the largest butterfly Kim and I made together, and it's certainly in the running as my personal favorite. (Who am I kidding, I love them all!) The wings measure just shy of 4" across the top wings, and are approx. 2.5" long.
